Jay Copeland, PT, DPT, CSCS | Physical Therapist

Jay is originally from Alabama where he was a three-sport HS athlete playing football, basketball, and baseball. He also holds a black belt in Taekwondo. He received a scholarship to play baseball in college earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. During his time as a student-athlete, he was awarded several academic and athletic achievements including All-Region and All-Conference First-Team honors and Google Cloud CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American. He continued his baseball playing career overseas in Germany’s Professional Bundesliga. He then returned to Alabama to pursue his Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree from the University of South Alabama. At that time, he also joined the local rugby club.

His professional career has taken many forms. His career started in private practice Orthopedic Rehab and Sports Performance, before contracting as a travel Physical Therapist. Then, he took time to volunteer in the Himalayas trekking, coaching, and providing rehab at a local gym. Jay has also coached CrossFit at several gyms in the southeast as well as individuals/teams at CrossFit semifinals and the CrossFit Games World Championships. His interests in PT include orthopedics/sports, neuro, and active older adults. He has special training in overhead athletes or throwers, sports strength and conditioning, CrossFit, outdoor adventurers, dry needling, and blood flow restriction training.

Jay is an avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast. He enjoys trail running, snowboarding, cycling, rock climbing, and CrossFit. He has completed the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim run, multi-pitch climbs in Sedona, AZ, backcountry splitboarding, many local CrossFit competitions, and off-road triathlons. Jay recently moved to the Big Island. He is excited to join and serve the community at large and of course, add surfing to his list of hobbies. 

Samantha Fujimori | Office Manger

Samantha, with over 25 years of administrative experience hails originally from Ka’ū. She graduated from Konawaena High School, Home of the Wildcats. As a high school senior, she attended school to study Early Childhood Education. Thereafter, she became a student at HCC and University of Hawaii-West Hawaii campuses. Samantha worked in the preschool setting for 10 years. Most recently in the last 15 years, she has been managing a physical therapy office near her residence. Samantha enjoys helping her community members with their coordination of care, directing them to resources when requested or providing the best support regarding their well being.

In Samanthaʻs free time, she enjoys the company of her children & grandchildren, family and friends alike; whether it may be at home, one of our many beaches, cruising our island or walking through our forests in the mountains. She loves to eat poi, enjoys gardening and takes interest in learning more about her Hawaiian culture, food sustainability, composting, preservation and all things that will help to keep our island clean. She enjoys crafting, organizing, small gym workouts with friends, buddhi yoga, music, horseback riding, her genealogy/family history, small event planning and is pleased to help give back to our community by volunteering her time.

Stephanie Colasanti, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist

Stephanie fell in love with the Big Island when she did one of her physical therapy internships at the Life Care Center of Kona and knew it would be a great place to practice physical therapy. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine with training emphasis on manual therapy.

Stephanie is originally from Michigan, but moved to the north east coast of Florida when she was 8. She developed a passion for surfing and the ocean from growing up in Florida and spent a few years in between summers coming home from college as an Ocean rescue lifeguard. She also participated in junior lifeguards, teaching kids to surf, taking them ocean kayaking and teaching them the ropes of being a lifeguard. Growing up, she was also a cross country runner and avid tennis player. She has a passion for nature, outdoors and adventure, and after graduating undergrad she did a 1200 mile bike tour from Eugene OR to Los Angeles CA. She stays active in her free time either surfing, doing crossfit, hiking and backpacking and playing with her dog Moo.

Her interests in PT include orthopedic populations. She has special training in movement analysis and treatment of weight lifting and crossfit athletes and runners.

Jordan Valle, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist

Jordan was born and raised in Huntington Beach, CA where she attended Cal State Long Beach to pursue her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. She moved to Missouri to attend graduate school at Washington University in St. Louis, completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Prior to attending school to become a physical therapist, Jordan was on the USA National Karate team for 10 years with a third degree black belt, as well as achieved a first degree black belt rank in Judo. She is still involved in the martial arts community and volunteers at events whenever possible.

Jordan recently moved to the Big Island to be with her family. In addition to all of the outdoor activities the Big Island has to offer, Jordan enjoys training her dogs (Dillon, Buddy, and Rhodey). Her youngest pup, Rhodey, is in training to be a therapy dog, so that they can volunteer together in the local community.

Rebecca Roberts, PT, DPT
Clinic Director

Rebecca (Becky) is originally from Albuquerque, NM. She moved to Chicago after high school and spent her time in Chicago attending college, working in risk management for a law firm, traveling the world, and playing rugby. Through rugby, Becky grew a love for physical therapy and decided to switch her career path.

Becky attended Washington University in St. Louis, where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2017. Becky worked as a traveling physical therapist, serving offices and patients across the United States, eventually taking a 6 month travel contract in our Kona office. Becky enjoyed living and working in Kona so much she stayed and joined the Therapydia team full time in January 2020. Her professional goal is to deliver high quality collaborative care to the residents of the Big Island.

Becky’s professional interests include outpatient orthopedics, pelvic health (women, men, & pediatric), pregnancy, postpartum care, contact sports, and chronic pain conditions. Becky completed her advanced pelvic health training through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute.

Jade Valeho
Office Manager

Jade was born on Oahu and raised right here in Kona. After graduating from Konawaena, she moved back to Oahu where she went to college, worked and started her family.

Her love for the Big Island and dream to return to Kona became a reality in 2004. She enjoys all types of ethnic foods, going to the beach, hanging out with friends/family, and giving back to the community.

Jade shares her love for her family, her positive attitude, and strong communication and people skills, as a rule of her daily living.

Jessica Jones

Physical Therapist

Jessica recently moved to Seattle from Boston, MA and is excited to join the Therapydia team. Her treatment experience includes orthopedics, sports medicine, pediatrics, and vestibular therapy. Jessica received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 2016. She has completed the Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency at Boston Children’s Hospital and is in the process of completing a Comprehensive Vestibular Rehabilitation certification. Jessica believes in empowering and inspiring patients to take control of their health through education, movement, and exercise. She enjoys treating patients of all ages and levels while utilizing soft tissue techniques, neuromuscular re-education, balance training as well as therapeutic exercise. In her free time, Jessica enjoys yoga, dancing, kayaking, and hiking with her dog!
